ushering 2009 ...

with no resolutions in mind!

haha that's a refreshing change, isn't it? but srsly, personally i doubt my own determination and perseverance to fulfil them to the extent i shan't bother making any. anyway isn't it more practical to take things in your stride as you go along? no point in correcting last year's mistakes when things are never going to be the same again.

sorry for being mia but sis brought her laptop with her to Paris. even her laptop gets to go to Paris my god. anyway will prolly continue the macau/zhuhai thing soon.

well, a quick reflection on 2008 seems to be apt at this point. on first hand experience, 2008 has been twirling flash of blur. in the sense that many incidents happened one after the next and tada before you know it you're taking a deep breath and it's all over. in a nutshell, 2008, seemingly like any other year, had its share of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, hope and disappointment. okay i can't think of any witty opposites anymore. after 18nov, okay honestly, the friday before that, my brain has taken a compromising back seat in my life. the thought of liberation was enticingly sweet while we were working towards our goal, but once we had it, it was but a short brief moment heaved by relief. i miss studying, i miss exams, i miss assignments, lectures, teachers and netball! sighs

sometimes, you can't make up the losses for some things. with the future being right in front, unsure by the sheer magnanimity of possibilities, but held back by the past like a kite string to a tree. to let go, to go with the wind, would be a piece of cake, a snap away. but who knows what the future holds. in the occasion where i know what i want, but the people surrounding do not, do i go with the flow or do i hesitate for them? would they be a liability or would they be a possibility. the only constant thing is life is change. cryptic much?

pri sch gathering went surprisingly well although i would admit that i was overwhelmed at first by the familiarity of these people who once had been a major part of my life, with the focal words being had been. the ghost of the past caught up but i found myself settling and easing comfortably into their company. it was nice seeing how they have changed but essentially still the same people you know since primary school. spent half the time catching up reminiscing only to realise how much i've missed the easy trust, innocence of youth and how much i've missed out all this while.

pictures junjie took:

twisters is officially my new favorite game. hahaha

sec netball gathering turned out to be a disappointment with last minute confirmations killing hope. oh wells, there's always next time hopefully?

okay before we all go counting down, i thought of showing something (which i took myself) we would all look forward to later in the night.

sometimes we just need to stop and smell the roses to realise that we have had what we've always wanted all along and to marvel what nature has to offer.

macau/zhuhai part I

ps i'm new at the photoscape thingy not like an old pro like sister and this is my virgin attempt at using the software so dun blame me if it ain't that nice.

day 1: reached T1. took some dumb photos with Mickey the pirate which i'm not gg to show simply bcos it looks dumb. and i dun look a day like 18 not to mention other faults. afternoon flight. Jetstar-ed to Macau. on the way; after the no electronic devices allowed for fear of hindering some navigating thingy signal went off,

i like nature and what it has to offer. if you know me well enough, one of my interests is to take photos of the sky and the beautiful clouds. and being high up in the sky, every other thing feels so small and insignificant. and the clouds are just simply amazing if you translate their beauty into mere electrons at work.

btw the flight there was pretty boring. the plane was naked as in bare of any entertainment. lucky i foretold this scene and brought a trusty book with me and the fact that it was only a 4-5 hours flight. reached macau at around 755pm and after the checking out and the usual procedure, our tour guide brought us out for dinner. it was 18C in Macau and it felt gooood.

bumpy ride on the road, but the dazzling lights were simply ... dazzling.

went through the customs to Zhuhai (part of China) and the same boring procedure of filling in the visa pass and pulling the luggage along. anyway got a shot of smth i thgt quite funny at that time bcos the first thought was UFOs. lol. but later it felt sorta insulting afterall visitors do sound more polite and essentially mean the same thing.

checked in into hotel and bedtime it soon was. regretfully forgot to take photos of the room but it was not bad to say the least. esp the design of the toilet!

day 2: breakfast was average. i think how good a hotel is shld take into consideration the breakfast buffet they set up in addition to the rooms itself.

anyway went for hot springs! what an experience. the place we went to boasted 80+ different springs but seriously i didn't get to see that many. no pictures for obvious reasons. we had to change in front of our lockers and in front of everybody else. it was quite awkward bcos even as you try to avoid your eyes, everything was just plain in front of you. and hard not to notice. excuse me for being conservative and chaste but hello, sights like sagging boobs or butts were smth that i didn't consider in my to-see lists when i signed up for this trip. the whole experience of changing into your swimsuit in front of everybody was a little disconcerting. and the Chinese were pretty oblivious to themselves and their environment. but it was an experience like i said. haha like what hot springs suggested, there were some hot and some cool ones around. nothing much worth mentioning except they were really gooood. the more memorable ones were one of which resurrected the deadman sea with super high saline content which increases the density of brine, a series of pools named after Julius Caesar and the fishes that eat dead skin. a vvvv tickling sensation and not to mention eerie when you see schools of fishes of variable sizes attacking towards you. we even saw some dead fishes afloat. wonder how they died. hongkong feet or stomped to death. lol after that, we re-grouped and discussed a bit. turns out there were more interesting pools around like a turkish one, a coffee one and i forgot what. so damn interesting but a pity time wasn't on our side.

lunch was at some village-y restaurant and one of our tour members; Will's father, unfortunately choked on a minuscule fish bone whilst eating the thousand bone fish, to which swallowing rice and drinking water did not help to pacify the problem. poor thing. our tour guide xq brought us to our next destination before bringing him to a doc. anyway our next destination was interesting. it used to be a famous official's house but made into a museum with wax figures.

different doorways that the people of China in the old times used to enter and sometimes depending on your status. interesting. the bottom one is the majestic one but it used to have 3 doorways but one of them was destroyed. the grade 4 onwards officials could enter from the centre doorway while the rest had to enter from the smaller ones.

i duno what it says but i think it's a brief history of the place. lol my chinese sucks.

the famous Zhuhai official and his two wives.

from left to right: first wife who is a chinese, famous zhuhai official, secret second wife from hawaii. damn cool right. btw just to share a tiny tidbit that i found interesting. the first wife bore 3 children for the guy but if i rmb correctly, none of whom descendants are still alive. the second Caucasian wife however bore him 16 kids. hahahahha cool right. and the reason why she was secret bcos she never stepped out of hawaii. and she used to be a princess in hawaii before marrying this guy. some of their descendants are still alive. they had a family tree going on in the house but another regret that i didn't take down.

inside the house where the famous official used to live:

check out the giant partition. coolio

and the really beautifully western-influenced design at the doors:

some giant pipe which i suspect is just an ornament:

then we hung around at the wax museum which i found nobody interesting enough to take pictures off. anyway after watching the wax museum (the movie starring paris hilton) i kinda creeped out after looking at the wax figures.

waited for the famous bian-lian aka change-face show in the outdoor theatre. almost died while waiting for the show to start. smokers were freely smoking and irregardless of the people surrounding them even as i blatantly waved my hands around to disperse the smoke. i could feel my lungs turning black and seriously in need of kidney dialysis. that was how bad it was. the change-face show was really gooood. it was simply amazing and looked like there was some magic involved. but after watching the prestige (starring christian bale and scarlett johansson) i realised magic was just physics. but even as my skepticism got the worse of me, i failed to see the trick or mechanism behind the mask. it was just so quick and flawless.

went for leg massage and it was really gooood. even better than the massage i got in bangkok the last time. the masseurs that attended to us were pretty young but they had blisters that showed off their experience. i've got a motherly masseur who did wonders to my legs. and the funny thing was weijie's masseur who looked like she was in her 20s but in fact she was the sum of weijie's age and mine thgt i was the younger sis. lol i seemed to get that compliment alot.

dinnered at some classy hotel/restaurant which served sumptuous delicacies which pleased everyone's palate. next up was an entertainment programme by the olympics acrobats of China. not sure if it was just an advertisement line or smth else. no flashes were allowed during the show as it may affect the acrobats' concentration. caught the usual gravity defying act, chair-stacking act, body-bending act, bowl-swirling act. but seriously, my sympathy went out to those performers on stage. most of them were young, and then already can do such impossible acts. just imagine the sheer hardships that they went through to where they are today was quite heartbreaking. and some of them looked like they had stunted growth due to their arduous training.

day 3 to be continued later, tmr or smth. blogger is having some probs now. and just when i got the hang of using photoscape and almost hooked on blogging. zzz toodles stay tune for more okay.

confession on christmas eve

omg i feel like a saint now. hahaha anyway i've been unconvincingly convinced myself to avoid blogger bcos i dun feel like updating abt the macau/zhuhai trip. and of all the things i did, i made a promise. -.- how dumb. but nothing earth-shaking has happened. i still want a bf but no daph and yenhui do not take it upon yourself to submit my particulars on some dating website or smth. Lololol also i found a job thanks to agnes as a camp facilitator. but i think i'm gg to find myself another one. it's getting bored at home.

i'm just gonna do a lightning update abt the past few days then move on to the inevitable.

yesterday; went out with agnes. being books-lover amid different genre all the same, her being the chick-lover and me being the vampy-werewolf sort, we went to central national library. haha i've got no idea why everyone refers the central one as The National Library. isn't every other library a national library? anyway least of my concerns. couldn't score any good finds meaning vampy/werewolf content kind of books and had to settle for teens section. i didn't know the current movie Angus thongs and ... snogging originated from a book! mmm many books are now adapted into movies. i wonder what's next? haha oh and we had a bit of trouble locating each other at first. lunched at ljs at the window seat which was ironically facing the alley. -.- then we shopped around and started playing a game. anyway I'm losing by a landslide the current score is 3 vs 10 i think. how sad is that. oh and i managed (thank god and thanks to agnes) to find smth below 5$ for the potluck thing on 26th at ms chen's house. andandand didja know CHIJMES originated from CHIJ? damn coolio! and i didn't believe it until i went to check things out. interesting huh. i've always thgt it was an acronym. haha

some time ago; caught twilight with nigel at grand cathay. okay i think it was the 18th. anyway we were queuing at the ground storey for tixs and then came the security guard who informed everyone there that there were supposedly more counters at the 5th floor or was it the 4th? anyway turns out we were the only two idiots who took the guy's advice and the queue upstairs was longer. -.- a waste of time. then we chiong down for nigel to have lunch, being a good bff (lol! long story.) i accompanied him. personally i thgt twilight was not bad, but its better to read the book first before catching the film.

read the newspaper earlier on and the flyer incident was mmm interesting least to say. i wonder if we're still sticking to the original plan to go/sit/fly (haha for the last verb) on the flyer on sunday? no kidding but i can't see myself belaying down the from the cabin. period. also i'm going to meet up with my pri sch mates on friday. am looking forward to seeing old faces though i can totally see myself doing the "hey i know you but i can't rmb who you are" thing alr. so embarrassing. lucky nicole says that she's gonna be by my side to help jolt my memory. haha

and another thing just occured to me. the jc student pass expires on the 31st dec/1st jan. so if we're out counting down, how the hell do we get home? food for thought huh? lol okay i'm gg to update the zhuhai/macau trip in the next entry.

btw before i forget; in an attempt to make my blog more colorful less wordy and more interesting, the heineken picture that i found on heineken website which was made into an e-card. damn cool but i managed to copy it.

from left to right: meiping tzehui yours truly and nigel.

i hate this part

omgz i love this song by pcd. like absolutely loveeee it. i've been playing it back to back countless of times but i still can't get it out of my head. it's just so addictive. one of the best of pcd's ever. period.

anyway. was kinda disappointed when no one cared enough to tag or ask abt me after my absence for like 2 weeks. tsktsktsk. i came back safe and sound thank you just didn't feel like blogging thats all. i want to update with pictures and all from macau/zhuhai but really i dun feel like it at the same time. also i'm getting bored at home. finding a job is harder than i thgt it wld. okay maybe i'll even head back to sch someday to seek mr jonathan's help to get an attachment program. i'm quite desperate. actually my parents are more desperate than i am. hahaha but right now i've got 2 weeks of free trial at California Fitness thanks to Ester, meiping's friend. hehe jealous anyone? finally! start exercising after eons of doing everything but.

the entry abt my vacation will come soon, i promise. i hate to drag things.

on the 13th, went to celebrate my parents 21st anniversary at seafood paradise. i know you must be thinking, so long! i mean i ahd the same thoughts as well, but hey time flies and look my sis is alr 20 years old. haha anyway the initial plan was to lunch then go up on the flyer but smth cropped up. next time i guess. lunch was delicious with the usual high class delicacies. their shark fin was omgly good as well. i know i'm supposed to abstain from that, animal protection and nature loving and all, but aiya hard to deprive yourself of a rare treat.

went manhatten fish market at central's for dinner to celebrate meiping's bday later. i think it was more of a catch-up/meet-up gathering between me meiping nigel and tzehui. since technically i'm sure, no one wished meiping happy bday even though i bought her a present. hahaha the seafood platter certainly matched its name as a hot fave, and the sizzling Louisiana (or smth which i'm 100% sure starts with an L) prawns were omgly good. the spag we ordered turned out to be quite nice as well. after that we walked, chat our way to liang court. on the way, we stopped at the Heineken place and had quite a bit of fun playing with the lights thingy and posing for the pictures. oh that reminds me, the photographer said we'll find our pics at the Heineken webby. haha walked into some random boutique and made some digs abt the mannequins then we went for some shopping at the jap supermarket with a trolley that was filled with nothing but our bags. haha after that we got out for desserts at gelato. tried the crepe thingy which was marvellous. felt quite bad we had to share 2 cos i was the potential vector for the flu bug. i hope they are still in the pink of health. haha on the way back, we caught some bellydancing act and a place where the patrons cld smoke Sikhsha. we sat outside the clarke quay station by the riverside for quite awhile. quite a tantalising sight but it really reminded us that sg is really small. anywhere you are, you can see the whole stretch of clubs/diners stretched out. i wanted to blog with pictures but tzehui haven't send them to me yet. if you're reading this, tze, i'm still waiting. haha

celebrated yiling's bday with the usual gang except for kayan who was in taiwan and bestie who had job commitments at bugis's seoul garden before i left for macau. caught up with some gossips and stuffs and only took like a couple of pics. haha there's always a first time huh. anyway as usual we stayed there for v long before going our separate ways.

oh and somewhere in between, my little brother brought his gf home for the first time. but technically second time to our residential area cos the last time she came she stayed at the bbq area. they pretty much kept to themselves and all. tsk i want to have a bf too! esp now that i'm so freaking free. and i'm 18! old enough to have one! ......

anyway that's pretty much abt it. i promise i'll get down to blogging my macau/zhuhai vacation soon. haha toodles

ps i want to watch Chuck and Gossip Girls! anyone know of a trustable online medium where i can do that for free and easy??????

bang bang! who died?

wow happy 200th post my dear bloggie. and to think at certain point in time, i was so certain that this day will never come. anyway i am aware that i have once again, gone back on my words. well well i cldnt just turn away from this loyal bloggie.

guess what time i slept last night?
5AM. bloody hell i was so shocked myself. and the fact that i was v exhausted didn't help as i fell prey against the all-hail-the-sims2. anyway it was like a new record for me. and i dun think i want to push myself further. lol and i was even considering if i shld stay a bit longer just to catch the sunrise.

went to check out the new relocated choa chu kang library and to my dismay, the library was like half-empty or half-filled, whichev. didnt get a single thing but maybe i was too impatient with too much time on my hands. and mind you the journey there was butt-numbingly long. in a bid not to go home empty-handedly, mom suggested we drop by woodlands lib to check things out since it was only a few stops away. and again history repeated itself to my disappointment. so tsk-ed.

okay i think this is just abt it. shld start packing my luggage now. toodles.

ling: hahaha as strange as it sounds, thanks for offering. hahaha not that i haven been hunting for your prezzie, the fact that i did but cldn't find smth that jump out to me, i think i will appreciate your offer and get your prezzie from macau. hahahaha although it will be kinda awkward to go celebrating your bday empty-handed. whats gonna happen after lunch btw?

my heart goes shalalala~

had the most rewarding msn session in a long long time just now. okay first to explain my absence over the last few days, sis went to nanjing (massacre!) with her laptop hence leaving me with no tech device that cld enable me to blog. not that i had anything worth blogging as usual. cut my hair. mom did the diy dye for me. and according to some, it ended up not being even again. kk back to the msn session.

caught up on gossips, traded a little and stuffs. while shingchung is still in hk, and according to him, mugging for his A's in 2010 (-.-), we (me and meiping) found out that nigel was elected to one of the nominees for prom king and he didn't even tell us. tsk. furthermore, i talked to the heartless thing for a short while before he left for his football game. i swear, guys will always be guys. and after some scooping around, we even found his prom pics. lol technology is sucha double-edged sword huh. hahahah

anyway, am looking forward to macau in a few days time although smth is dampening my enthusiasm. sighs. and i just realised everyone is gg to hk or part of hk this summer/spring. sheryl currently in hk, i'm leaving in (yay!) 4 days time, sc residing in hk, and even nigel is gg to hk on sun.

wan-ting says:
is there anyone you missed besides me?
wan-ting says:
hahahahahahahaha
SC. says:
i think u need to make some amendments to ur sentence ah (ignore this part)
wan-ting says:
lol
SC. says:
no la only you

hahahah how awww is that. hahaha admittingly, boys will always be boys.

afterwhich he went on to say;

SC. says:
i only rmb au wanting la -x-

hahahahaha which totally made my day/night.

alrighty, shall blog again after my well-deserved vacation. toodles.
