time

Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice.
But for those who love,
Time is eternity.

Eternity is often symbolized by the image of a snake or a dragon swallowing its own tail, known as Ouroboros (or Uroboros), though the symbol can also carry a number of other connotations.
