Marina Barrage
L&C Agency brought us to Marina Barrage today.
Woke up at an ungodly hour, and by the time we got there, it was about my usual waking time. Talk about early birds getting all the worms. But indeed we did get the best spot for our mini put together through sheer luck picnic. The exhibition was quite cool and also design-wise but it seems to keep harping on the benefits and yada yada.
Indulged in a longtime fantasized about childhood activity – kite flying. Seriously. It should be considered a sport of all sorts. It certainly is no easy feat to run and attempt to get the kite caught up in winds, then allowing it to soar further up and up. Anyway, we all had varying degrees of success. But nonetheless, we all had fun. We all laughed at how ruoyuan and yenleng got burnt. Then after I showered, I supposed they had the last laugh. I didn’t realize my hands got burnt my god.
Looking to get tan? Marina Barrage is the new Sentosa. (Although tan lines is of another business altogether.)
Just caught The Illusionist on Ch5. My God. Great show! Simply genius or ingenious some would say. The unraveling of the story is one of a kind, the tricks or the illusions Edward made were more than spectacular and the last five minutes was the clincher – the revealing of the real inside plot. I bet all the audience got deceived, but wow.
Okay I’m starting to dread 11 Aug.
A DIFFERENT HAPPY ENDING
I cried even knowing how it would eventually played out - Michael sacrificing himself for a
LOVE so great that capitalising and bolding it pales on the surface. Though you've got to admit, this sort of Love only exists in fiction.
Prison Break is like the best series Ch5 has ever broadcasted on TV and simply the best TV series ever to be produced. Kudos for scriptwriter(s), creator Paul Scheuring, etc etc, and of course Wentworth Miller for bringing to life the one and only Michael Scofield.
Michael's famous last words were; "... We're all free. Finally..."
why can't i post any images!@!!!
Eclipse, my foot!
Disappointment washed over again. When the alarm rang at 740, i knew i had decisions to make. Life-altering decisions. Somewhat.
Anyway, it's not like you get to witness the solar eclipse on a daily basis. So based on that argument, i woke up, settled comfortably on my um bed trying to get a good view outside the windows. I was aware that i was dozing on and off while trying to stay awake. Read somewhere that eclipse was to take place between 7.40-8.40. Obviously it didn't happen. Was conversing with Shuxin and Theresa all the way after that cos i thought i missed it during one of my countless shut-eyes moments then they said they haven't spotted it either.
Received intel from T afterwards that 9.11 might be
it. By then dark clouds had already gathered and the ever practical me had doubts about it. Nevertheless i went out to the living room for stakeout in the offchance that i might be proven wrong,
which of course didn't happen. The temperature did felt slightly lower though. Dad said it was over before he left the house. I was -.- They were watching it from the TV which telecasted from who-knows-where.
Then updated intel said it would happen around 9.48 or smth. So i decided to take a 40min nap in the direction of the windows. It prolly isn't much of a surprise that well, it didn't happen. At some point in time, i couldn't determine where the sun was.
-
The initial plan was to upload 2 pathetic photos that i've taken then blogger seemed a little screwed up. So oh well.
-
the forementioned pathetic photos;
maybe the sun was eclipsed by the moon in say, somewhere between those thick dark clouds?
looking like every other ordinary raining day
WHIRLWIND OF ACTIVITES
Gatherings actually. Met up for dinner on Sat with JC classmates at Yiling's workplace somewhere in Chinatown and Sun with WSS's at City Link. Needless to say, had loads of fun catching up and all despite a little screwups on both accounts.
Oh ya. And had an OG outing at MINDS Cafe which most of the peeps turned up. Played Saboteur, Taboo, Sleeping Queens, Uglydoll (super thrilling), Cranium (attempted to but gave out after 2 turns), Bang (after distributing the cards and got the rough instructions we decided to move on to another game), First Hands (though our version was a bit skewed.) Ended up having dinner at Astons.
Do you ever wonder why everyone pronounces it as ash-tons? It's not like it has a H in its spelling. Lol
Heard plenty of things about HP; like the plot didn't go down as well as the book did, didn't meet the expectations henceforth not worth watching. Nevertheless, it's still a have-to-watch don't you see? There's no way you can simply skip this and move on to the next sequel. Sheesh. People and their endless grumblings.
Nothing feels right now. Somehow.
G.I. JOE
This entry is going to be Channing Tatum & GI Joe concentrated.
Other words for fans
only.(Not sure who's the good guys or baddies. Just as long as Channing is hot!)
(don't you just love a guy in uniform?)
(you can shoot me anytime, Channing!)
(ah, the rugged look that us girls simply adore!)
But alas, dear Channing is happily married with his long term girlfriend Jenna Dewan (from Step Up 1).
Parting picture that says subtly
I'll be back;

And like a moth to the flame, she was helpless to fight the pull of attraction.
MAYBE SOMEDAY
Oh my. I think i have attention deficit disorder. Seriously.
How else can you explain the fact that a) i can't focus for more than an hour straight b) i can't focus c) i can't focus d) i can't focus e) how many ABCXYZ reasons do you need for not being able to focus?!
Oh man this is real bad.
POST LAST DAY AT WORK/NO MORE(S)
No more chasing after 142, no more chionging out of the house, no more wearing all black (seriously depressing), no more just the bringing of essentials, no more stuffing those essentials into pockets of jeans, no more wearing ankle stockings, no more plasters at the back of my feet, no more wearing of shoes that induced my feet to emit a stench, no more inhaling 2nd/3rd hand smoke...
But alas, no more trying to beat the system, trying to laze around, sneaking in after being late, bitching around during work abt work, comparing break schedules, discussing where to go for meals, making new friends, debating which merchandise were likely to get a further discount, which merchandise to reserve, shifting duties to unknowing victims, lamenting the same song disc being put on loop, looking forward to hearing closing bell and all.
Sigh.
Work is such a love/hate thingy.
Going to miss, Samantha (whom i got nicknamed as ovaltin (wth?) and S as sushi (lol)), Sarah (whom promised to add me at fb but till now nada!), Leroy, Eve aka Lu Yi (NTU), Evelyn, Peng Hui, Zhi Yi and lots more whom i can't rmb their names. Oops?
Going MINDS Cafe tmr with Sherlock. Dinner with Sherlock. Oh and i finished writing all the tiny notes alr. What an accomplishment. Medical checkup on tues with Y.
Oh and i just realised if i'm T short for ting, then Meiping, Nigel, Tzehui and i can form TMNT. LOL isn't it funny?
Presenting Sherlock (incomplete):
ALAS, HOW THE MIGHTY HAS FALLEN
(Okay i'm perfectly aware that i've left this thing, or rather piece of junk here stale. But no worries, problem created, problem solved. But warning, stay clear if you haven't got much time. It's a prettyyyyy long entry.)
I don't quite consider myself a mighty, but having to succumb to procrastination again and again and again (you get the drift)...
Just when i thought i found something to occupy my time with, something productive and actually beneficial to me for a change, (obviously, other than reading my story books which seems endless btw), to
finally embark on the revision of JC Maths in preparation for the new term, something more pressing, or so it seems stood in my way. I realised i still had a lot of junk - mainly those pesky piles of papers that were left over from last year's blood and sweat. A part of me was snickering at my attempt to put, dare i say,
studying off in lieu of other seemingly important stuffs.
First to go, were actually the physics stuffs. And i for one, have never felt a more liberating feeling than that. Maybe it's the instinctively knowing you'll never, ever touch that subject again. Never had a thing for physics, and it certainly weren't the phys teachers fault. Next to go were sadly the GP papers. I kept the lecture notes and some others because i felt it seemed like a waste to put it through the recycling process while i was still feeling rather attached to it. Chemistry was the last pile i did for the day. It was amazingly quite a stack to the extent i felt rather proud and extremely pleased to note. And then the disappointment of not getting an A washed over again.
It took like half a day for me to separate the papers, from recyclable (meaning those that still could be used as rough papers) and those that went straight into the recycling bin. Maybe i was dragging my feet about doing it. But really, I'm going to start on Maths tmr. I swear!
Anyway. Quick recap of the past few week or so.
From most recent:
7/7 - Payday/Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
Caught it with L, S, T & Y after collecting our reserved stuffs at Mango which was after getting pay. There was this one part where the female robot seduced Shia was sick. Like reallyyy sick. The extremely long tongue attached to machine parts. Gags Oh ya! I realised i actually worked with Jia Yi's sister at Mango for the gig which i only realised on payday. Lol small world small world.
3/7-5/7 - ACTS POTENTIAL CAMP
Which was fun fun and fun. Except i got traumatised on the 2nd and last night in the shower. A bloody cockroach came into my cubicle and fucking crawled over my leg. I was so freaking grossed out that i had everyone's attention with my shrills. After spraying it to the next cubicle, then it went to the last, or so i heard, but it fucking came back. Which super grosss. Yucks it still gives me the shudders to think of it. And now when i shower, i can't help but glance down at my feet every now and then. Then i almost screamed in the shower when i thought i saw a black thingy in my towel which after taking a deep breath, i found out was just a crease on the towel. It totally ruined the day. And the second day was like the peak. Spent the entire morning plus afternoon at Sentosa, which i thought i got tanned fairly which my peers said i didn't. We had this A Walk to Remember after dinner and it was ah a walk to remember indeed. Very memorable. The tasks we had to go through and stuffs. Oh crap i can't remember the place we went to that had this romantic setting set with candlelights, a potential date place. Unfortunately for the diners that night, i think it ruined their atmosphere for we stormed in clad in our t-shirts and shorts in search of toilets. Heh. But the finishing point was at Henderson Waves which is a pretty cool place. Afterwards, after our grand plans to have supper at (i think the last place we settled on was) Chinatown. Then we realised we had no means to go there, transportation wise. Late night movie plans were cancelled as well. Ended up going to this Prata Place near our camp site (MOE Labrador Adventure Centre) where it had excellent service. I was too hungry to care about the quality of prata but simply gobbled it up. Breakfast the next morning was unexpectedly cool. Had a myriad of stuffs, donuts, selegie soya beancurds, fried rice, bee hoon, gardenia bread plus nutella and etc. So much fun bantering for the food my goodness. And then the finale was really quite sad.
2/7 Last day of work
It wasn't much to complain, because by now the crowd has gotten considerably under control. Went back to fitting room. I guess it's somewhat befitting to finish where you start, and have that sort of ending finale feeling. Lol
OG outing next monday! Medical checkup with Yenleng on tues! Meeting up with J, J, M, N, T on sat! Oh shit. That reminds me.
